Some TV channels have been helping terrorists in Mumbai. May be unintentionally, but their live footages have perhaps worked as CCTV footage to them. Despite the authorities urging the channels not to give out details of the operations, almost every step was reported on live television. The number of commandos and the strategies planned were revealed. Footage of them taking positions, entering the hotel, clear pictures of their weapons was telecast. All that the terrorists had to do was just watch television and get prepared to counter. A similar blunder was allegedly done by the media during the Kargil war too. An army officer who lost his brother in the war said about a famous woman journalist, "If I ever see her, I will kill her. If not for her my brother and other soldiers would have returned victorious." He alleged that the journalist learnt of the strategy planned for the day. Even when she was specifically told not to reveal it, she went ahead with her exclusive. "She told on TV, from which side of the hills a team had proceeded. The enemy immediately knew what to expect and the entire contingent was wiped out."

a stupid citizen
Hello m agarwal
What do u know abt karkare as you have referred to him as corrupt. He died while trying to save innocents from the attackers. If he is corrupt, what are you. Why didnt you yourself go and face the terrorists and fought them, which mr. karkare did. Think twice before posting anything, or else there is no place for stupids and cowards like you.

You are so right
Also another point is these terrorists are picking bigger and bigger targets due to the amount of media attention they are getting. Just think how else would anyone get 24 hrs x 3 days coverage on all news channels worldwide for free, if we stop publicizing the terror so much some of these will stop automatically.
May be we all should go back to print media for such coverage.

Ban them
Some news channels should be banned totally eg. AajTak. I get head ache wathching it. They are only bothered about minting money on others' life. I remember while I was in pune, some two yrs back, Mumbai train blast. A reporter asked a father who lost his son in the accident, "Apko kaisa lag raha hai?" What stupidity, and what kinda question was that. A father who has lost his son how would he feel.

TV channels should be shrewd
I agree that the TV channels should obey the authorities and not give out details of operations which is highly sensitive information. One cannot be naive at this point. I feel that if these channels had been shrewd, the operations would have got over faster and with lesser loss.

Definitive Action Time!
Enough is Enough! How long will India succumb to outside political pressure and do nothing while our countrymen are slaughtered year after year! We need to take a firm stand as USA did after 9/11, and attack the concerned areas with no holds barred until all terror-training camps have been wiped out! This is no time for politics, no time to listen to the US tell us not to do anything when they themselves had retaliated by attacking terror camps in Afghanistan! We have to launch a full-scale operation and show the world that India will not stand by meekly while our country is terrorised!
As the last of the terrorists is killed by the brave commandos, we can see the politicians starting to slink out of their holes and declare their ‘compensations’ for families of the victims. There is no talk of retaliation, no talk of definitive action to prevent this in the future. Instead, they’re hailing one of the most corrupt cops of our times (Karkare) as ’shaheed’ and starting to play the same old blame game! I am a peace-loving person who has always said that India and Pakistan need to unite and end hostilities, but that is not possible so long as elements in Pakistan are working so hard to destabalise and terrorise India. And they will continue to do so until they have the support of terrorists trained at terror camps, which is why I say India needs to attack these camps (not the country of Pakistan), and eliminate all such camps with no mercy shown, before there is any chance of future peace being possible

Now it is time for action. Now dont let the politicians think and waste time. Just pass on the reins of our country in the hands of the brave commandos and let them flush out all the terrorists out of our country. Dont just kick them out, but kill them so no other person dares to look into or be another terrorist. Also the media has to co-op in this matter by not giving out details of the operations as the have always done.

BAN ON TV CHANNELS
I agree with what other say. There should be some restriction on every
news channel. They think only how
to make money from every event, whether
it is terrist attack or any issue.
They not only show what they have to
show but also makes comments to
make barriers in the people on the
name of Religion and other thing.
They also show past thing again
and again, so that people may think
that it is happening now. Because
of that any thing may happen in the
city.
So therefore, there should be strict code of conduct on all news channels.

Mr
"Pen is mighter than gun" this is what the people believe and now our Media is proving this by giving live actions and each & every step of the govt and the army which was taking the action. The media people should use a little bit common sense while presenting news, what are the consequences of telecasting a particular item instead for their popularity they are telecasting very important news which needs to be kept very confidential.I pleade media people to use their pen in the real sense for the welfare of oue Country.

ban on tv channels
There should be some guidelines for live and/or another broadcasting by the news channels. There is no policy for these media persons. One of the reported asked the NSG commondes after operation is over at Taj who did u feel inside while the operation was going? How stupid question? Newschannels are like prostitutes

Its time for Europe to set a new tone with terrorist.
Its time for Europe to set a new tone with terrorist. A tone that will resonate, one that only the terrorist will truly understand.
The common man doesn’t think like a terrorist, nor is he taught to hate and kill. Terrorist have killed innocent people on every continent in the world. In some cases the media doesn’t even refer to them as a terrorist.
We need to set up a special covert operations, where no government can claim responsibility. This covert operation team can use unconventional warfare. Warfare so severe that the message will be clear to any terrorist in the future.
Operation reciprocity; Deliver the same force/violence to the terrorist; village, and family. They will die for 72 Virgins in their after life. What if they knew their village and family will suffer? I know some of you are thinking…how could we do this. If a village teaches hate, and teaches to kill innocent people, do we really need these people in this world? All other methods have failed dealing with terrorist. If you want peace, we must bring the fight to the terrorist.

Hi,
I do agree with you . And the journalist which you are referring about later emerged as the darling of nation , though the nation has lately lost out their love for her due to the journalists "minority appeasement","pseudo secularism" and closeness with separatis in Kashmir

Concrete suggestions for India/Mumbai - FIGHT BACK!!:
- Think like the Israelis - terrorists only need to be killed
- Get Biometric IDs for all citizens
- Fix your traffic - so that firetrucks and ambulances can get around
- Put cameras at all intersections - and integrate it with every city's security plans
- Have rapid response teams - with clear command and control - include hospitals in the plans
- Fix your porous borders
- Develop techniques to identify and tag terrorists - build nationwide databases (use your IT capabilities)
- Get modern and organized, all efforts seem haphazard and chaotic

anoher eye opener...
we've all heard about major unnikrishnan...and his sacrifice.here's another incident not known to the people.while major bharat of nsg was running out of breath climbing 18 floors and fetching ammo to keep the struggle goin on, the IG police met him for few seconds at the basement."hi bharat..i would like to accompany you.where's the action going".the reply was "sir.18th floor."the FATSO police officer found it too tiresome to go upstairs wherein the commandos had gone more than 35 times to fetch ammo again n again.mr IG had the audacity to ask Maj Bharat"son..sit down and explain as to wots the scene on the 18th floor.
".thankfully we army guys still have the spunks to give a shut up call to such lazy guys and the reply Maj Bharat gave was"Sorry sir.i dont have time.my guys are waiting upstairs.it wud have been so nice had u not been suffering from obesity.we would have got your expert guidance upstairs." and he pushed off.folks it high time that we realize that the beaurocrats n politicians have made our country hollow.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH .I Salute Bharat who's admitted in the hospital with a blown ear.

INDIAN NEWS CHANNELS
I totally agree with you Savie and here's why:
INDIAN NEWS CHANNELS
They come and go in a flash
Only to be forgotten as trash
Later to be flashed again and again
Increasing viewers unending pains!
Deaths, Rapes, Violence and Political Gimmicks
Are what the channels present as lyrics
Bad, awful, without any substance
There are always topics without any substance
No authorities have any real stance
As trivial issues are given so much importance
Tragedies are sold as hot newsreel
With stupid anchors asking – How do you feel?
Insensitivity and glorifying pains
Have become the rule and mantra for channels’ gains
These news channels have no stopping
One wonders where the world is heading?
Breaking the news is always a break
Through advertisers, channels increase their stake
More than the news there is always a break
With meaningless news, there’s really no take
Crime, Calamities, Catastrophes and Celebrities
Is not all, the channels sell them as news
There are craps like comedy to irritate
With Commercials aplenty, the channels have saturate
Highlighting violence has become the order of the day
Covering celebrities walking to temples “LIVE”, is joke of the day
I often wonders where’s the fourth pillar heading?
As news have become just another commercial products
Gone are the days
When news provided knowledge
And important happenings, all around the world
Today, it has just become the game of TRPs (Television Rating Points)
I strongly feel TRPs stands for
Totally Ridiculing People’s Sentiments
I am sad about the downfall of news
News today, who really cares?
