Amid the gory reports of the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, there was a joke hidden between the lines. Pakistan pointing fingers at India for having “sent the 12 terrorists to malign the peace-loving nation.” The anarchic state where only American drones dare to enter, a country that is being unanimously blamed by the world for harbouring terrorists and a country that blood-curlingly is on the verge of Talibanisation pointing fingers at others calls for a hearty laugh. But if India did send the 12 musketeers of Lahore with guns, grenades and a few rocket launchers stacked neatly in their backpacks, we sure did a good job of it. The terrorists surrounded the high-value targets, fired at them, injured a few cricketers and also killed five Pakistani cops for good measure. And then they escaped. All 12 of them! What was left behind were their bags and a nation mourning the loss of its second religion — cricket.
