Nobody had questioned the airline on the need for terminating the several hundred employees. The absence of profitability was justification , kind of. But naturally, questions are still being asked about the MANNER with which the process was completed. ...

One more Sunday and one more attack on innocent people. Another series of condemnations and, 'threats' from the government that those found guilty shall not be spared.
This is increasingly becoming one Giant Ferry wheel at the local mela. It stops, many get in, many get out and the tamasha continues. ...

What do we do when we go through a personal finance constraint? We reduce our spend, avoid eating out as often and look at cutting costs. Dont we? Jet has done nothing different. It has cut costs. Where Jet has gone wrong, is the manner in which it laid off people. One does agree that the terminated staff cannot blame the airline for the loans they have taken or how would they run their homes. Just the way hotels don't start blaming customers for not coming to them to eat. ...

It is like patience among community leaders, just a handful of them, is running out. Every one is waiting to explode. These were observations of a senior intelligence official, monitoring Thane district. "Blasts in Jaipur and Delhi has anyways kept us on our toes. But it is this, the gradual erosion of patience along communal lines which is worrying us", he said. Pray, why this change, when till last year these warring factions were friends? Its election time folks. With the countdown for Maharashtra's Assembly elections having begun, it is more than apparent who are the instigators....

Another new week. Another round of tragedies. . A shocking (avoidable) stampede which has snuffed out so many lives. A series of blasts in Tripura. The untimely demise of a former colleague, under unusual circumstances. She was found dead in her car. Initially presumed to be a death in a road mishap. But minutes before the funeral, the autopsy revealed she had been shot dead.
